Khawaja Khalid Mehmood completed M.S. and Ph.D. from Sungkyunkwan University, Republic of Korea under the supervision of Prof. Chul-Hwan Kim in 2019. Dr. Khawaja’s Ph.D. thesis was about the clustering based planning methods in distribution systems. Dr. Khawaja has extensively worked on the applications of optimization-based methods in power systems considering power system planning, operations, reliability, electric vehicles and demand side management. Recently, Dr. Khawaja has been awarded a young author award for his research work at a power system control conference held at Tokyo, Japan in 2018. During Ph.D., Dr. Khawaja has registered one patent in Korea and published several journal and conference papers. Dr. Khawaja’s has also worked on automation systems and completed two training courses on PLC programming from PITAC, Lahore and SEECS, NUST, Islamabad in 2013.

​Dr. Khawaja worked in a textile industry for a few months before his Ph.D. studies. During Ph.D., Dr. Khawaja has worked on numerous research projects and was able to obtain good results from them. Some of these projects were related to distribution systems, whereas some were related to application development.​
