Dr. Syed Ali Abbas Kazmi did PhD from SungKyunKwan University (SKKU) South Korea in smart Distribution network planning. His main field of research and expertise is in electrical power engineering and specifically smart distribution network planning. Besides academic background, he has three years of technical experience from Askari Cement Limited Wah as assistant manager (Electrical Works), one year of teaching experience at COMSATS Islamabad and one year of administrative experience at Ministry of Defense (MoD) Pakistan, and overall five years of experience, respectively. He has also attended several international conferences and presented his research findings. He has also served as a reviewer of several prestigious journals during his PhD studies. 

Dr. Syed Ali Abbas Kazmi has research interest in the following areas;

1) Smart Grids
2) Loop Distribution Networks
3) Microgrid , Multi-microgrid
4) Voltage Stability Studies of future distribution mechanisms
5) Frequency Stability of REG based Micro-grids 
6) Multi-objective/criteria based planning approaches  
7) Smart distribution network planning of future distribution mechanisms
