Dr. Ghulam Ali is working as Assistant Professor at USPCAS-E National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). Before joining NUST, he was a faculty member at Department of Physics, University of the Punjab, Lahore where he got a project to establish Li-ion batteries laboratory. He was a postdoctoral researcher at KIST, South Korea from September 2016 to February 2019 where he did several projects including development of next-generation Li-ion batteries. His research interest includes the development of high-performance electrode materials for Li-ion, Na-ion and next-generation batteries, supercapacitors, investigation of the reaction and degradation mechanism of electrodes, and development of novel catalysts for hydrogen production. Dr. Ghulam Ali has co/authored more than 33 international journals with a total impact factor ~296, filed 8 patents, and his research work was presented in more than 45 international conferences. He is also serving as reviewer for many journals.

​Dr. Ghulam Ali has the following research interests:
•    Development of high-performance electrode materials for Li-ion, Na-ion, Mg-ion, Zn-ion, and Al-ion batteries.
•    Investigation of the reaction mechanism of electrode materials using synchrotron-based in-situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction.
•    Investigation of the degradation of cathode materials using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy.
•    Development of high-performance electrode materials for supercapacitors
•    Development and structural investigation of catalysts for hydrogen production and storage
