Summer School in Energy at NUST Islamabad

21-31 July 2019

US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCASE), National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST)

Introduction

Energy Center at NUST started its classes back in Fall-2012 with the vision to be a world class education and applied research Center.

Center is currently known as USPCAS-E (US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy). It is well equipped with state of art graduate research labs in areas namely Energy Storage and Conversion, Fossil Fuels, Thermal Energy, Biofuels, Advanced Energy Materials, Solar Energy, Smart Grids & Electrical Power Systems and High Performance Modeling/Simulation open to researchers from different backgrounds.

The Summer School in Energy at NUST will be mainly targeting 3 areas including renewables, thermal power engineering and the electrical power engineering. It offers an intensive 10 days course for all of those who are interested in above mentioned areas including the energy policy and management for sustainable development. Lectures will consist of theoretical fundamentals followed by practical exercises that will demonstrate methods and tools for development, planning, measuring and evaluation of conventional, renewable and alternate systems, etc.

Eligibility

Summer School in Energy is open to senior undergraduate, MS and PhD students in engineering and physical sciences.
