Dr. Adnan Maqsood secures 4 research awards for PAF projects (2018)

Defense-related projects are important in any public sector university because not only applying results gained from defense-related projects can have a positive ripple effect on the entire industry but they also have the potential to lead the improvement of industrial and technological capability. In this context, Dr. Adnan Maqsood (HoD Research / Assistant Professor, RCMS) is able to secure four PAF related projects worth PKR 0.99M, 0.96M, 0.96M and 1.65M in the year 2018. This is a big achievement for RCMS, and will help in strengthning research side of RCMS and also in securing more research-related projects, for students as well as faculty in future.

Dr. Zartasha Mustansar receives NRPU-HEC Grant for Biomedical Engineering project (2018)

Dr. Zartasha Mustansar (Assistant Professor, RCMS) received NRPU-HEC grant for her Biomedical Engineering project. The project's title is 'Development and reconstruction of geometrically accurate models (3D) of Human Brain for calculation of Intra Cranial Pressure (ICP) due to presence of tumors, using Image-based modeling and Finite Elements.' To-date, there is a lot of research on going on, on the measurement of ICP in patients with different conditions e.g. ICP due to edema, ICP due to formation of embolus in CSF and ICP due to accidental head injuries. However, there is still an area in this domain which is lacking enough knowledge, i.e. investigating ICP due to the presence of brain tumor. Dr. Zartasha would be expoloring this knowledge area in her project. She has been awarded PKR 1.45 Million and project will be started in September 2018, whereas the duration of project is 2 years. 

Dr. Mian Ilyas receives DAAD scholarship to contribute in Engineering & Science (2018)

Dr. Mian Ilyas Ahmad (Assistant Professor, RCMS) was selected by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for a fellowship under the programme 'Research Stays for University Academics and Scientists'. He visited Max-Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems, Magdeburg Germany from January 01-31, 2018 as an international postdoctoral researcher / expert.

Dr. Junaid A. Khan receives grant from NESCOM for a project (2018)

Dr. Junaid Ahmad Khan (Assistant Professor, RCMS) received a grant of PKR 0.3 Million from NESCOM for a period of 1.5 years to develop MATLAB/ MathCad/ C++ based electro-optical (EO) modelling and analysis tool to provide complete thermal modelling and infrared signature prediction capabilities. The title of the project is 'Simulation Model for Electro-Optical Engagement' and will expolore modelling and analysis tool of the field.

Dr. Fouzia Malik invited by World Science Forum (WSF) 2017 - Jordan  (2017)

Dr. Fouzia Malik (Assistant Professor, RCMS) participated in the World Science Forum (WSF) 2017 held at King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre, Dead Sea, Jordan. Dr. Fouzia Malik was invited and fully sponsored by WSF. World's largest Science Forum was held under the leadership of the Royal Scientific Society of Jordan, the founding organisations of the World Science Forum, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the International Council for Science (ICSU), and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The 8th World Science Forum was organised by Royal Scientific Society of Jordan held from November 7-11, 2017 at King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre, Dead Sea, Jordan.
The WSF was participated by over 3000 participants from all over the world mainly Asia, Africa, Pacific regions, United States, Russia and Europe etc. Speakers and participants included His Royal Highness Prince Al Hassan Bin Talal, Princess Sumaya Bint Al Hassan, Presidents of Scientific Academies, Ministers, Research Scientists, Directors and CEOs of the Scientific Associations. RCMS faculty member Dr. Fouzia represented as scientific delegate from Pakistan on WSF. She participated in all discussion forums of WSF to discuss critical global issues and the potential of science to address them holistically for the responsible and ethical use of scientific knowledge in addressing the great challenges facing humankind.
