Ahmad is an assistant professor of structures at the department of Aerospace Engineering,
College of Aeronautical Engineering (CAE) National University of
Sciences& Technology (NUST) Pakistan. He completed his undergraduate
studies from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi in 1993, in
the specialty of mechanical engineering. He holds a Masters degree in Metallurgical
Engineering. His industrial experience includes four years of managing production
at Peoples Steel Mills Karachi. He was trained for continuous casting of alloy
and special steels at Austria and Poland by Bohler and Voestalpine Industrial Group.
He served at Aeronautical Research Centre for six years as Project Director and
completed 15 projects including life extension of FT-5 aircraft with
collaboration with M/s Aerostructures of Australia. He also received formal
training in the field of Damage tolerance analysis and fractography from M/s
Aerostructures Australia. He also served for three years at Technology
Department of No 102 AED, PAF Base Faisal as Officer Incharge. During the period
of three years he supervised and completed 35 projects.
