Assistant Professor Zubair Ahmed received the M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2008, and 2003, respectively. He is currently working as Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, NUST College of E&ME. He has been teaching different courses involving high frequency techniques such as EM field theory, Wave propagation & antennas, Microwave engineering and conventional circuit theory such as Linear circuit theory and Electrical network analysis. He has supervised/co-supervised numerous UG projects and MS thesis. He has authored about 20 research papers in the field of microwave and antennas. Assistant Professor Zubair is a senior member of Microwave Engineering Research Lab (MERL), where he is conducting research and development of microwave and radar technology, microwave active and passive circuits and antennas. He is currently pursuing his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering. His PhD research work is related to development of new techniques for improving the radiation characteristics of higher order mode patch and CRLH TL based metamaterial antennas.

Assistant Professor Zubair Ahmed’s current research interest includes higher order mode patch antennas, All-metal reflectarray antennas, CRLH TL based metamaterial antennas, microwave filters, EMI reduction techniq­ues and integrated RF front ends.
