Faiza Nawaz received her Master’s Degree in Power system Automation from North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), China, in 2013, and her BE in Electrical Engineering from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, in 2008. Her MS research work was focused on minimization of low order harmonics in multilevel inverters using firefly algorithm. She is currently working as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering at College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, NUST, where she is part of the Power Systems Research Group, along with teaching specialized courses in power engineering to under-graduate students. She has supervised a number of UG students in the area of power engineering. Her areas of interests include power electronics, power system analysis and design, power system control and optimization.​
