​Through his active work experience, Mr. Bilal has acquired knowledge in the field of high temperature sintering of nano-ceramic materials, failure analysis, laser surface modification of tool steel, welding and fabrication of pressure vessels and in-situ synthesis of polymer nanocomposites. He has hands on experience on metallographic sample preparation equipment, electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction (both room and high temperature), Raman microscopy, differential scanning calorimeter, Vickers’s hardness tester and thermal conductivity analyser. With a diversified experience in metals, polymers, ceramics and composite materials, he plans to enhance his knowledge and gain diversified experience as a researcher in the field of materials science.


​Current Projects

1.    Wear Behavior of Ca-SiAlON Ceramics

Goal: To study the wear behavior of Sialon ceramics under varying operational conditions (including speed, counterpart materials, temperature) for cutting tool and wear resistance applications.

2.    Wear Behavior of AISI52100/cBN Composites

Goal: To study the wear behavior of AISI52100/cBN composites under varying operational conditions (including speed, counterpart materials ,temperature) for wear resistance applications

3.    Development of inorganic membranes for water treatment.

Goal: The goal is to synthesize inorganic membranes, their characterization and testing for removal off heavy metal cations from wastewater.
