Dr. Ashraf Yahya received his BE(Electrical), MS(Electrical), and PhD (Electrical) from the NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, Pakistan in year 1993,1999, and 2019 respectively. He Joined Engg. Academics in year 2002. Earlier he worked in Heavy industry as Assistant Manager/ Sr Electrical Engr for seven years, where he got ample exposure to operation & Maintenance of High Power-Electronics drives and Electrical Machines. 

Dr. Ashraf has authored a number of research articles published in high impact Journals and conference proceedings. He has taught numerous courses related to Power Engineering and Power Electronics. By virtue of his practical experience, he is able to correlate theory contents with practical applications.He was nominated to contest for award of overall University Best teacher-2013.

Dr Ashraf has played a pivotal role in the adoption, implementation and improvements of Outcome Based Education (OBE) system in B.E Electrical Program in PNEC. He has also been actively involved in the curriculum development of B.E(Electrical). Moreover, he is a certified lead auditor in Quality Management systems (QMS) and has performedthe duties of Quality Management Representative (QMR) for PNEC for a couple of years. Currently, he is working as the Head of undergrad Programme (HoUGP) in the department of Electronics & Power Engineering (EPE). 
His research-interests include Multilevel Inverter topologies & control, DC-DC converters, FACTS, and HVDC
