Rules and Regulations

LIBRARY RULES

1. All staff officers, faculty members (other than the visiting) and students on joining the college automatically assume the membership.  However, they will be required to get the membership cards issued from the library after submission of photographs and their particulars.

2.  Visiting instructors can seek membership of the library after approval from the respective Dean/HOD Library. 

3. Staff Officers/Faculty Members can borrow up to 20 books per semester.

4. PG/UG Students can borrow 07 books for 15 days.

5. A fine of Rs.10/- per day per book will be charged from members, if they keep books beyond the return date.

6. Reference Material including Thesis and Project Reports will not be issued. However in case of extreme requirement the same can be issued after approval of respective Project Supervisor/ Concerned DEAN.

7.  All Members shall be liable to pay current cost of any lost book.

8.  The book once borrowed may be re-issued only after its physical muster provided that the book is not required by other members.

9.  In case a book is urgently required by the library, the member has to return the book to the library immediately.

10.  Members are not allowed to mark the pages with ink/pencil or tear them off from the book. Such books will not be accepted and member will have to replace the same book (Title, Author, edition, original / local) to the library otherwise member has to pay  actual/ current cost of the book.  The amount collected will be used to purchase new copy of the same book from the local market and remaining amount is to be deposited in relevant A/C.

11.  College library follows an open shelf library system.  All members are required to search and draw the books at their own.

12.  Membership of borrower will be cancelled, if they do not return books in time.Members leaving college / transfer are not allowed to transfer their books in the names of other members.​

BOOK BANK RULES

The rules pertaining to the issue/ receipt of books through Book Bank are appended below:  

1. Only the prescribed textbooks / textbooks recommended by the faculty members are kept in the Book Bank Section.  

2. All students are required to submit 01 photograph (1.5” x 1.5”) and their particulars for their Book Bank membership.

3.Books from the Book Bank will be issued for a maximum period of one semester to the students of BE degree classes only on payment of 10% of the total cost of book on first come first basis.  

4. If any book is damaged, defaced, pages torn / turned or mutilated at the time of return of book then such books will not be accepted and member will have to replace the same or pay actual / current cost of the book.  

5. In case of loss / misplace of book, a member is required to return the same book (Title, Author, edition, original / local) to the Book Bank otherwise member has to pay actual/current cost of the book.  The amount collected will be used to purchase new copy of the same book from the local market and remaining amount will be deposited in Book Bank A/C. 

6. In case the lost / misplaced book is obsolete and not available from the market then the whole amount is to be deposited in the Book Bank A/C and the book is to be charged off from the Book Bank / Library Accession Ledger after recommendation through Muster Committee and approval of the Commandant.  

7. If any book is found with loose binding at the time of return then the student is required to pay Rs.60/- as the binding charges. The amount collected will be deposited in the Book Bank A/C.  

8. No student is allowed to take two books of same type from the Book Bank.  9. Students are to return all the books and take clearance from the Book Bank prior proceeding on terminal leave or leaving college.

BR’S SECTION RULES

1. Members leaving college / transfer are not allowed to transfer their BRs / PBRs/ Misc publications or Course notes in the names of other members.

2. BRs / PBRs / Misc publications and Course notes will not be issued unless clearance of the outstanding BRs / PBRs / Misc publications and Course notes.

3. In case of loss of BRs, PBRs or Misc publications the same is required to be charged off as per NDA / relevant policy.
