NUST established it's Professional Development Centre (PDC) in July 2007 under an initiative of Higher Education Commission (HEC) to provide continued education and professional development services to industry so that industry could acquire state of the art knowledge to maximize its productivity and efficiency. PDC leverages NUST technology base and faculty through its training events for creating industry academia linkages and for playing the role of a catalyst to align coursework and R&D activities at NUST with industry requirements. Besides this, PDC also provides knowledge and training to NUST faculty and staff regarding best practices in managing a 21st century institution. It engages highly experienced trainers both from NUST and outside of NUST to conduct hands on exercise/case study based industry problem specific trainings. PDC has so far conducted hundreds of industry-focused workshops and has trained more than 9470 professionals from about 450 organizations. It uses state of the art information, communication and learning technologies to deliver highly professional trainings. PDC also creates training partnerships with different organizations. Currently, PDC is Certified Professional Engineering Body of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) for carrying out continued professional development of PEC registered engineers.
To develop PDC as an autonomous self-sustained residential training institution for creating exceptional learning experience for professionals within and outside of NUST.
To conduct high quality professional trainings for NUST employees and industry professionals by using latest training technologies, robust processes and highly experienced facilitators capable of using activity based training methodologies for creating practical learning experience.
