“Bridging the gap between the Academia and the Corporate World”

Centre for Industrial Linkages, CIL is a centre of excellence which aims at bridging the gap between academia and the corporate world. The centre aims at building the critical relationship need between the graduates and the corporate sector which in turn will help students in familiarizing with the practical aspects of the industry and the corporate sector. The corporate Companies are built on well developed networks which produce measurable business results such as faster learning, quicker response to needs, better problem solving, new ideas and innovations. CIL ensures coordination between the students and the corporate companies. It is responsible not only for arranging internships and placements for students, but also facilitating the corporate sector’s investment in the new technology smart campus of NUST at H-12. In addition, CIL is focusing to establish long term relations with the industry. In this connection industrial visits and guest speakers’ sessions are regularly arranged at NBS.

 Internship:

Internship is an essential part of the curriculum and serves as an important purpose in imparting practical experience as well as an insight into the working of the organization. Therefore, all the reputed universities give a lot of importance to this assignment for grooming their business graduates. Realizing the importance of the internship, NBS incorporated a six to eight week’s mandatory internship in its MBA, BBA and BS Economics programs. CIL has arranges 75 to 80% of internships for the students in leading corporate sectors every year. The centre also facilitates internship leading to job for graduating students.

Job Placement:

To meet the demands of the job market, CIL bridges the gap between academia and industry through effective linkages. CIL arranges and facilitate campus drives for different organizations to hire and interact with talented graduates.

This is a continuous process for students at NBS and CIL has also included the pool of alumni in this sector. Since establishment of NBS more than one thousand Alumni have been inducted in corporate sector at the rate of 70 to 75%. Employability in major sectors is:

     Job Fairs: 

    In order to strengthen linkage with the corporate sector, CIL holds job fairs. This event acts as a platform where prospective employers and business executives meet and interact with graduating students. A large number of leading business firms participates in this mega event with a chance to select the best graduates for employment in their organizations.

    Alumni Get Together:

    CIL annually arranges Alumni Get Together with an aim of keeping a close relationship with the Alumni and to make them feel that they are still the members of NBS family in particular and NUST in general. This helps provide input from Alumni by sharing their valuable ideas and suggestions and launching of NBS Scholarship fund for needy students.
