VISIT OF THE ZIMBABWE NATIONAL DEFENCE UNIVERSITY DELEGATION TO PEACEKEEPING TRAINING DEPT, CIPS

A 25 Member delegation of National Defence University Zimbabwe,
headed by Brigadier General T J Munongwa, Senior Directing staff visited
Peacekeeping Training Department at CIPS/ NUST Islamabad on 04 June 2017. The
visitors were received by Principal NIPCONS Major General Mazhar Saleem Khan
(Retd) and thereafter taken to Rectors Seminar Hall. After the welcome remarks
by principal, a detailed briefing on NUST by NUST representative and then on
CIPS/ Peacekeeping Training Department by PKT Head of Department was given to
the participants. This was followed by a Question Answer session. The members
were quite inquisitive and asked questions about different challenges to the
Peacekeepers under the new threats, Integrated Training Methodology, Uniformity
of Training within Peacekeeping Training Centers and the NUST hybrid
arrangement. The questions about NUST revolved around procedure of admission of
Foreign Students, NUST Thinks tank organization and its input and funding of
NUST. They were deeply impressed by the infrastructure and the execution of
training. After exchange of souvenirs the delegation was seen off for their
onward visit to SEECS.
The
delegation then visited School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
(SEECS). After the initial briefing they were taken around and briefed about innovations/
projects done by SEECS students in the field of electronics as well as computer
sciences. The delegation also saw the Annual Price Distribution event being held. They were deeply impressed by the various
facets and variety of academic and co-curricular activities. They delegation
were finally seen off from SEECS by concerned Staff of SEECS and Head of
Department, Peacekeeping Training Department
