About Department
This department focuses on the capacity building of personnel engaged in UN Peacekeeping Missions worldwide. This is done by providing practical knowledge of conflict prevention, peacemaking, peacekeeping, peace enforcement and peacebuilding to military personnel, police, and civilians from Pakistan and abroad. The training programs of the department equips the participants with both theoretical and practical knowledge of UN Peacekeeping Operations. At CIPS, this is just another dimension of our global peace and stability mission. The Training Courses have been designed in a manner that the emphasis by the UN Integrated Training Service (UNITS) is kept in focus while we supplement the curriculum with on hand experiences and best practices. The Core Pre-deployment Training Material, Specialized Training Material, presentations by the Adjunct Faculty and Scenario Based Situation Oriented Exercises form part of the course curriculum.

CIPS has networked with other international peacekeeping schools, associations, universities and think tanks to share best practices in peacekeeping related pursuits. To remain in sync with the latest developments in peacekeeping regime, we do organize and participate in various national and international seminars, workshops, round table conferences and research studies.  
Instructional Modules 
Based upon UN Integrated Training Service Department designed curriculum and suitably supplemented by the Best Practices and Lesson Learnt, the various modules for the courses are as follows:-

–Module 1   Core Pre-deployment Training Material (CPTM).
–Module 2   Specialized Training Material (STM).
–Module 3   Presentation from adjunct Faculty (SME).
–Module 4   Scenario Based Situation Oriented Ex.
