Dr. Hamza has a multidisciplinary teaching and research experience of over 30 years in water resources management, water resources engineering, engineering hydrology and construction project management. He has supervised 90 MSc/MPhil theses in various disciplines of civil engineering and has published over 80 international and national journal /conference papers. Dr. Hamza has worked as Principal Investigator in a number of UNESCO and ICIMOD sponsored projects. Also he has organized many international workshops/conferences/short term trainings sponsored by UNESCO and ICIMOD.

Dr. Hamza is affiliated with national and international professional bodies such as Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Pakistan Engineering Congress, Institution of Engineers (Pak), International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS), International Society of Agricultural Meteorology (INSAM) and Pakistan National Commission on Irrigation & Drainage (PANCID). He is also Convener of HEC National Curriculum Review Committee (NCRC) for Civil Engineering, Member Pakistan National Committee on UNESCO-IHP, Member National Water Research Network (NWRN), Member PEC Engineers Skill Development Committee (ESDC) and i) Member, PEC - Engineering Curriculum Review and Development Committee (ECRDC) – Civil Engineering & Allied Disciplines.
