SEECS Open House 2019
The long awaited mega event 'SEECS Open House 2019' took place on May 02, 2019, at Centre for International Peace and Stability, NUST H-12 Campus, Islamabad, to showcase the skills of their graduating students and to provide networking platform for students and industry leaders.
Mr. Abdul Shakoor Amjad, MD RWR Pvt Ltd. graced the occasion with his presence as chief guest of the Final Year Project Exhibition. Industry specialists and evaluators viewed projects, as SEECS students explained the working and ideas of their FYPs to them. Walk in interviews of various companies were also held alongside.
Mr. Barkan Saeed, CEO, Vizteck Solutions, was the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony, where prizes were distributed to the best industry projects. Principal SEECS, Dr S M Hassan Zaidi thanked the Chief Guest for taking out the time for the graduating class. He lauded the efforts of the Final Year students and the faculty and congratulated them on their success.

SEECS Open House 2018
SEECS Open House 2018 took place
on May 10, 2018, at Centre for International Peace and Stability, NUST
H-12 Campus, Islamabad.

as chief guest of the Final Year Project Exhibition. Industry specialists evaluated student projects; walk in interviews of various companies were also held
Mr. Qazaffi Qayum (Managing Director, Teradata) was the Chief Guest
for the closing ceremony, where prizes were distributed to the best
industry projects. Principal SEECS, Dr. S. M. Hassan Zaidi thanked the
Chief Guest for taking out the time for the graduating class. He lauded
the efforts of the Final Year students and the faculty and
congratulated them on their success. He went on to tell that a once
humble school of NUST with the strength of 40 students is currently
Alma Mater to more than 2000 students, who are exceptionally talented
and are an asset not only to NUST-SEECS but to Pakistan. He thanked all
the industry partners of SEECS Open House 2018 and expressed his high
hopes that these ties would only strengthen further as SEECS modifies
its curriculum with respect to the industry requirements.
More than 200 industry guests attended the event and several companies
conducted interviews for hiring the graduates during the Open House. 80
judges from industry and academia were present to evaluate the
projects. Out of 126 projects displayed this year, 3 best projects
from each discipline were given shields, certificates. A total of PKR
150,000 cash prizes were given to the third, second and first project
The Chief Guest shared with the students the steps to
success and told them that in today's fast paced
world, intelligence alone isn't enough. One has to be more practical
and communicative in order to secure better place in entrepreneurship.
He wished luck and better future to the students and thanked Dr. Zaidi
for inviting him.
The ceremony ended with the Chief Guest giving shields to all the
organisers of Open House 2018, while he was awarded with a token of
appreciation by the Principal SEECS. The ceremony was followed by the
SEECS Open House 2017
NUST SEECS conducted an Open House on May 23, 2017. Rear Admiral Dr.
Nassar Ikram SI (M), Pro-Rector Research Innovation and
Commercialisation (RIC) NUST graced the occasion as the chief guest.
After the inauguration of Open House, guests had a tour of the Flagship
projects. The projects displayed by the students were indicative of
their innovative potential and competence.
The main idea of the event was to showcase the final year
projects of BEE, BESE and BSCS graduating students.
A total of 116 projects from the three different disciplines were
displayed to highlight the various facets of academic and professional
grooming at SEECS. The projects displayed by BEE students are 52 and
SE/CS students displayed 64 projects.
The objective of the Open House was to get the employers and
leaders in business, industry, education and services acquainted with
graduating NUST SEECS students from Computer Science, Software
Engineering and Electrical Engineering programmes and highlight our
students’ multi-faceted potential. The industrial representatives had a
direct access to the talented youth, to assess their suitability for
various national business and industry streams and get them exposed to
existing and future market needs. The Evaluation Committee, throughout
the proceedings of the Open House, remained engaged in the gruelling
task of assessing the best ones out of a large number of projects. The
result was announced in the closing ceremony.
The chief guest at the closing ceremony appreciated the potential of
SEECS students and mentioned that every possible effort should be made to
exploit their novel ideas by magnifying them globally at the broader
