NUST Community Service

National University of Science and Technology (NUST), established in 1992, had its’ curriculum’s focus strictly on the academic content and its application in the field of Science and Technology. Business studies and Humanities was also included keeping in view the need of the changing time.

The mission statement of NUST outlines four focus areas where the university is moving forward. Community Service is one of the core focus areas.

NUST carries proven credentials on civic and socio-economic front of not only Pakistan but also globally. This is why it has risen to be amongst the top 500 universities of the world.

A highly dedicated and active club, NUST Community Service Club (NCSC), sponsored by the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (SMME), is established for the sole purpose of developing a sense of responsibility, compassion and empathy towards the community amongst the students of NUST and to promote active citizenry to make them better human beings.

Keeping in view the Medium Term Framework of Higher Education Commission (HEC) 2011-2015, a service learning course was made mandatory to all undergraduate students.

NUST also joined hands with an international body- Talloires Network. The Pakistan Chapter of Talloires Network (PCTN) was formed and located at the NUST H-12, Islamabad, Pakistan. The PCTN Secretariat serves as a coordination point for all the community engagement initiatives undertaken by member institutions.

Students, faculty and staff participate actively in all such activities which are projected towards helping the community, furthering the institution’s mission of helping mankind in general and supporting the rightful beings of the community.​
