A book launch ceremony for Mashriq mein Islami Tehzeeb ke Aasaar: Bengal mein Arbi wa Farsi Katbaat by Dr Yusuf Siddiq, was held at School of Art, Design & Architecture (SADA) Auditorium on March 13, 2014.

Published by NUST Publishing, the book is an indepth study and analysis of the inscriptions and epigraphs of the Medieval period, highlighting the spread of Islam in the region.

The ceremony commenced with a critical appraisal of the book by Dr Mujeeb Ahmed from International Islamic University. Director NUST Publishing, Dr Safdar Ali Shah, spoke on the establishment of the Directorate and its broad aims and objectives. 

Finally, the author, currently an HEC appointed foreign faculty professor at Punjab University and LUMS, spoke about his work and the various aspects of Islamic culture and civilization in Bengal.

Appreciating the author’s research work, Rector NUST, Engineer Muhammad Asghar, stressed upon the need for further exploratory work on similar lines.
