NUST observed International Peace Day on Sep 25-26, 2018. An interactive ‘International Peace Day Seminar’ was organised at the Centre for International Peace & Stability (CIPS-NUST). The discussions themed around ideas, emphasising peace for all. The seminar underscored both normative and structural forms of peace and their relevance with sustainable development. It resonated with the cardinal objective of CIPS, which is to meaningfully contribute to the discourse of peace and generate pragmatic measures to ensure peace at home and around the world.
A “Peace Walk” was also held a day prior to the seminar. Participants included faculty, students, and UN representatives and Kazakh delegates in Islamabad. The walk was followed by an exhibition of pictures, showcasing Pakistan’s contribution to peace around the world.
