Today marks an important milestone in NUST's journey of inclusive development, with Pakistan Bait-ul-mal (PBM) joining us an an esteemed partner and donor. With a promise of collaboration at multiple levels, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) inked an agreement with NUST, in a ceremony at NUST H-12 campus Islamabad. Mr. Aon Abbas Buppi, MD PBM, was greeted by Lt Gen Naweed Zaman, HI (M), (Retd), Rector NUST.
Rector NUST appreciated the support of PBM for 50 undergraduate students of NUST, who will now be able to afford quality education at NUST. Through this support, PBM has joined the donor community of more than 600 partner organisations and philanthropists of NUST Endowment for Educational Development (NEED) Initiative. Spearheaded by NUST University Advancement Office (UAO), this initiative is defining futures for students from financially challenged backgrounds. Currently, more than 1,300 students enrolled at NUST are availing scholarships.
Rector NUST eulogised this partnership, ‘I am astounded by the magnitude of work being carried out by Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal. NUST’s mission is very much aligned with Bait-ul-al, and we are looking forward to taking this mutually beneficial partnership further in coming days.’
‘We are enhancing our educational support to include higher education and are going to aid many deserving students in pursuit of education,” MD Bait-ul-Mal vowed to change the educational landscape of Pakistan. This agreement between the two organisations is only a stepping stone for many more collaborations to come. From enhancing the scholarship support programme, to utilising NUST’s research strengths for PBM’s impact evaluations, to internships for NUST Community Service Club students – this partnership will benefit the inclusive development mission of both organisations.
MD PBM also had an inspirational interactive session with NUST students on promoting inclusion of youth through social protection. His visit concluded with planting a tree, as part of NUST’s Spring Tree Planation Campaign 2019.
