Faculty member at Armed Forces Institute of Dentistry (AFID), Army Medical College, NUST, Dr Irfan Shah, has been elected as Board Member / Country Representative at Middle East Board of Association for Osteosynthesis - Craniomaxillofacial (AOCMF) from October 2015 to September 2018.
Association for Osteosynthesis (AO) Foundation is a Switzerland-based internationally renowned research and educational forum specializing in Musculo-skeletal trauma, wound healing and fracture management. It organizes research and educational activities in different parts of the world around the year. Dr Shah, an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, is a member, fellow and faculty of AOCMF.
Dr Shah completed his AOCMF fellowship at Ludwig’s Maximillian University Hospital, Munich, Germany, under the supervision of Prof Dr Michael Ehrenfeld in 2011. Along with faculty from Germany, Spain, Japan, Austria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and UAE, he has already taught and trained surgeons of his specialty through symposia and workshops organized by AO Foundation. He has represented NUST/ Pakistan in China, Germany, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and UAE through the same forum.
As an elected Board Member, Dr Irfan Shah will be able to interact with the AO international community more frequently and represent Army Medical College / AFID, NUST and Pakistan on many more international forums.
