To celebrate the 142nd birthday of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, NUST Student Affairs Dte organised a series of 4-day long events to commemorate the struggle and ideology of one of the greatest leaders of all time.
Day 1 - Dec 25: various buildings and the entrance of the H-12 campus were illuminated with festive lights and banners. A tribute to the father of the nation, in the form of a video, was shared on NUST’s digital and social media platforms.
Day 2 - Dec 26: Debating Competition
Debates in Urdu & English were held, in which orators from NUST Debating Society participated passionately by putting forth their arguments on how to make Pakistan the country Quaid e Azam envisioned. The winner of the Urdu category was Arham Khan from NUST School of Chemical & Materials Engineering (SCME), and Hamza Ahmad from NUST School of Natural Sciences (SNS) won the English category. Congratulations Arham & Hamza!
Day 3 - Dec 27: Quiz Competition
As part of the ongoing Jashan-e-Jinnah celebrations, a quiz competition was organised by NUST Quiz Club under the auspices of Student Affairs Dte, on December 27, 2018, at Concordia-1 cafe at NUST H-12 campus, Islamabad.
The patriotism and love that students displayed for their leader was commendable. They expressed their admiration through active and enthusiastic participation in the competition, and their well-prepared answers to questions about Jinnah's life and struggle. The correct answers were rewarded with cash prizes.
Day 4 - Dec 28: Poster Competition
On the last day of the Jashan-e-Jinnah celebrations, a poster competition was organised by Student Affairs Dte, on December 28, 2018, at Concordia-1 cafe at NUST H-12 campus, Islamabad.
Students of NUST School of Art Design and Architecture (SADA) depicted the Quaid’s message through their paintings and illustrations.
The competition was won by Mariam Bukhari, student of SADA, for best portrait; she made a beautiful pencil sketch of Jinnah, and was awarded a cash prize of PKR 3,000.
