Ms. Nigar Nazar, CEO of Gogi Studios, observes a lecture of CSL-401

The NUST Community Service Club (NCSC) course participants of SCEE (CSL-401) were treated to a special guest on 1st April, 2014 (Tuesday). The very celebrated CEO of Gogi Studios and the first Pakistani female cartoonist, Ms Nigar Nazar visited SCEE Seminar Hall on an observatory visit. 

Ms. Nigar attended an hour session on “Stress Management” by AM Maheen Mumtaz. Ms. Nigar was also invited on the stage to tell the audience about her famous comic characters. She talked to the audience about how the comic is being projected to disseminate a social message to the community. The main protagonist of her comic is Gogi, an urban Pakistani woman struggling with her frailties in the context of gender-discriminant social norms. But her subject areas are not only restricted to gender issues. Ms. Nigar told the audience that environment is a subject which is really close to her heart. The comics also cover social issues ranging from corruption, sectarian violence and education.
