A seminar is being organized by NUST Community Service Club (NCSC) and NUST ICE Student Chapter (NISC) today, April 28, 2014 (Monday). This seminar is in commemoration of World Day of Safety and Health at Work, which is celebrated worldwide on April 28 every year.
The seminar will highlight the importance of occupational safety and health. Dr Athar Masood from HITECH, Ms. Sarah Amir from International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and Mr. Samee ur Rehman from World Institute of Safety and Health (WISH) will be speaking today at the seminar at SMME Auditorium from 1430-1600 hours. The seminar will be followed by a walk for cause from SMME to Gate 14 (towards NUST Villas) from 1600-1700 hours.
The day was declared by the International Labor Organization (ILO) as an official occasion to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally. World Day for Safety and Health at Work is an awareness-raising campaign "intended to focus international attention on emerging trends in the field of occupational safety and health and on the magnitude of work-related injuries, diseases and fatalities worldwide."
