The School of Chemical and Materials Engineering (SCME) NUST organised a joint event comprising an international symposium and a workshop at SCME Seminar Hall, on October 2, 2019.
The symposium titled “International Symposium on Computer Applications in Process Industry” - iSCAPE-19, provided a platform to national and international experts to share their knowledge about new trends and challenges in process design, operation and control. International experts included Dr Sanghong Kim and Dr Jesus Rafael Alcantara-Avila from Kyoto University Japan, and Dr Brenno C Menezes from Hamad Bin Khalifa University Qatar. Several experts from different parts of the country also presented their work.
The workshop held on October 3-4, 2019, titled “Modeling and Simulation Software for Process Industry” (MOSSPI-19), was divided into three sessions, and trained representatives from academia and industry on the most prominent process modeling and simulation software. Trainers included Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, Dr Muhammad Ahsan and Dr Muhammad Taqi, while foreign speakers delivered their lectures in the iSCAPE-19 through Skype. The workshop participants were from diverse backgrounds such as process industry, strategic organisations, university faculty members and students.
