Minds for a Better Tomorrow!
Islamabad – NUST organised a two-week Summer
School Pre-university Programme for high school students (age: 16 years and
above). As many as 60 students from various parts of Pakistan, including
Karachi, Gujranwala, Daharki, Burewala, Multan, Hassan Abdal, Wah Cantt,
Peshawar, Sialkot, Vehari and Rawalpindi participated in the programme.
The participants attended activity-centric courses and were
introduced to basics of Engineering, Biosciences, Management Sciences,
Architecture and Arts & Design. The participants also socialised with students
on campus during activities arranged by NUST student clubs. During their stay,
the students engaged in sports, including badminton, cricket, basketball, volleyball
and futsal. Participants also enjoyed recreational activities like stand-up
comedy, music and drama events arranged by NUST Dramatics Club, as well as an excursion
trip to Khanpur dam. Summer School participants thoroughly enjoyed their
experience and gave positive feedback.
The whole experience was designed to invoke interest of high
school students in disciplines offered by NUST, as well as the university’s
state-of-the-art facilities and serene surroundings, so that they can make
informed decisions about their future.
