NUST bags first prize in IEEE Global Student Challenge

Abrahim Shah, student of Mechatronics department, was awarded the first prize in IEEE Global Student Challenge at the annual banquet of IEEE Computer Society, held in Phoenix, Arizona. IEEE Computer Society arranges this Student Challenge every year in which university students from all over the globe send entries of there work to IEEE for evaluation. This competition is the most prestigious Student Category competition conducted by IEEE Computer Society. This year a NUSTian, student of Mechatronics engineering was given the First prize for his work, while the second was given to a student of Penn State USA and third to University of Houston, and he was the only Pakistani who was acknowledged on this event.

Abrahim Shah was invited to the annual banquet held in Hyatt Regency Phoenix, Arizona with all trip expenses covered by IEEE computer Society, including a round trip ticket to USA and three day stay at Hyatt Regency, and was also awarded with USD 1500 and a certificate was awarded to him at the ceremony as a token of appreciation.​
