A two-day international conference on "Kashmir Conflict: Changing Dynamics and the Prospects for Peace" was held at NUST on oct 8-9, 2018. Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Jammu & Kashmir, was the chief guest of the opening ceremony. Various distinguished guests from Indian Occupied Kashmir and Europe, academics and diplomats are partaking in the conference. The conference has been arranged to discuss different dimensions of the protracted Kashmir issue.
The President mentioned that over 700,000 Indian troops have been deployed in Kashmir to terrorise them so that they may submit to the Indian hegemony. Yet, Kashmiris have been putting up unassailable resistance to Indian brutalities ever since.
While Lt Gen Naweed Zaman, HI (M), (Retd), Rector NUST, emphasised in the conference that Pakistan’s national narrative on Kashmir is based on solidarity, goodwill, deep pain at the sufferings of Kashmiris in the Indian-Occupied Kashmir and an earnest desire for peace in the region.
The sessions of the 2-day conference included: Kashmir Conflict: The Current Dynamics; Kashmir Conflict and the Current Challenges; and Kashmir Conflict: Prospects of its Resolution.
