NCSC Eye Camp - 2017
Continuing its tradition of selfless and dedicated community service, the NUST Community Services Club (NCSC), in collaboration with Al-Shifa Eye Trust & Hospital, organized a two-day Eye Camp at the NUST Medical Center. The camp was organized from 14th to 15th March, 2017 at NUST Medical Centre, where a recorded large number of people came to avail this opportunity. It was doubtlessly a great one, for it enabled the students and staff to have their eyes checked up for free. Not only the checkup, but medicines, eye-drops, spectacles, and further prescriptions etc. were also given, as per the requirement, completely free of cost.
The registration desks had been set up, the diligent organizing committee was present for their (ushering) duties, as the team from Al-Shifa Eye Trust arrived on the event day. Their team, comprising of doctors, eye specialists, and paramedic staff, were welcomed by the NCSC team. The registration process started at 9:00 A.M, as the highly experienced eye specialists began to check the people up. People were excited to have their examination, some of them were nervous though. A lot of children were also present in the camp since a number of people had come with their families for the evaluation. Ushers were busy guiding the people about the procedure, along with their queries, and left no stone unturned to fulfill their duties in the best way possible. On the first day, the volunteers were proud to serve more than 600 people in the camp, which went to a total of 1403 treated patients (after two days), while around 350 patients also got their spectacles.
