ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION ON ACT / SAT BASIS

  • NUST has a few ACT / SAT specific seats in undergraduate programmes for national candidates for which a separate merit list is prepared. The weighting of ACT / SAT score will be in lieu of NUST Entry Test weightage.
  • ACT is conducted by ACT, USA. For more information on ACT, visit their website at www.act.org.
  • NUST institutional code to receive ACT scores is 2915. ACT scores are valid for 2 years.
  • SAT Test is a computer-based test held under the management of College Board, USA. For more information on SAT, visit their website at www.collegeboard.com.
  • NUST institutional code to receive SAT scores is 2790. SAT scores are valid for 2 years.
  • Last date for ACT / SAT scores to reach NUST is 25 July 2024. Scores received after the deadline will not be entertained.
  • It is the responsibility of the candidate to provide the ACT / SAT scores on the given address by due date:

Undergraduate Section, Registrar Directorate,
National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST),
Sector H-12, Islamabad, Pakistan.

  • Separate application form is available on NUST website for applying on ACT / SAT basis.
  • Minimum 60% aggregate marks each in SSC / equivalent and HSSC/equivalent exams.
  • All non FSc stream candidates having qualifications like Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate, British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level), American High School Graduation Diploma (9-12th Grade), International Baccalaureate Diploma (DP) or any other equivalent qualification must have equivalence certificate of their qualification, duly obtained from IBCC, Pakistan in relevant groups/subjects and with minimum 60% marks.
  • Candidates of O/A level or any other foreign qualification are advised to contact IBCC, Pakistan for issuance of equivalence certificates as per university requirements with more than 60% marks in required subjects / group, well in time. Any deficiency of subjects or non-provision of IBCC equivalence certificate before start of classes will lead to cancellation of admission at any stage.
  • Desirous candidates can avail the facility accordingly, provided they meet the specified eligibility criteria.
The Entry Requirements are as under:

Engineering

Academic Requirement
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in SSC / O level / equivalence of “Science group”
AND
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in HSSC / A level equivalence of “Pre-Engineering group” including Maths, Physics & Chemistry as mandatory subjects
OR
“Computer Science group” including Maths, Physics & Computer Science/Computer Studies as mandatory subjects.
ACT Score Requirement

ACT Composite Score (Minimum score to apply – 25) 

BS Biotechnology / Environmental Science

Academic Requirement
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in SSC / O level / equivalence of “Science group”
AND
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in HSSC / A level / equivalence of “Pre-Medical group” including Biology, Physics & Chemistry as mandatory subjects.
ACT Score Requirement

ACT Composite Score (Minimum score to apply – 25)

 

BS Computer Science / BS Data Science / BS Bioinformatics / BS Artificial Intelligence

Academic Requirement
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in SSC / O level / equivalence
AND
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in HSSC / A level equivalence of “Pre-Engineering group” including Maths, Physics & Chemistry as mandatory subjects
OR
“Computer Science group” including Maths, Physics & Computer Science/Computer Studies as mandatory subjects
OR
“Pre-Medical group” including Biology, Physics & Chemistry as mandatory subjects
OR
“Mathematics” as a major subject.

BS Food Science and Technology

Academic Requirement
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in SSC / O level / equivalence of “Science group”
AND
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in HSSC / A level equivalence of “Pre-Engineering group” including Maths, Physics & Chemistry as mandatory subjects
OR
“Pre-Medical group” including Biology, Physics & Chemistry as mandatory subjects.

B Architecture and B Industrial Design

Academic Requirement
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in SSC / O level / equivalent with Mathematics & Physics as mandatory subjects
AND
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in HSSC/equivalent exams (Pre-Engineering / Computer Science Group) with three subjects out of which Mathematics and Physics  are mandatory subjects.

BS Mathematics

Academic Requirement
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in SSC / O level / equivalent
AND
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in HSSC / A level / equivalent with three subjects, out of which Mathematics is a mandatory subject.

ACT STEM Score (Minimum score to apply – 25)

BS Physics

Academic Requirement
Minimum 60% aggregate marks  in SSC / O level / equivalent
AND
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in HSSC / A level / equivalent with three subjects, out of which Physics and Mathematics are mandatory subjects.
ACT Score Requirement

ACT STEM Score (Minimum score to apply – 25)

BS Chemistry

Academic Requirement
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in SSC / O level / equivalent
AND
Minimum 60% aggregate marks in HSSC / A level / equivalent with three subjects, out of which Chemistry is a mandatory subject along with Physics or Mathematics.
ACT Score Requirement

ACT STEM Score (Minimum score to apply – 25)

Business Studies and Social Sciences / LLB

Academic Requirement
  • Minimum 60% aggregate marks in SSC / O level / equivalent
    AND
    Minimum 60% aggregate marks in HSSC / A level / equivalent
  • For BS Accounting & Finance, Minimum 60% aggregate marks each in SSC / O level / equivalent AND HSSC / A level / equivalent exams with Mathematics or Accounting and Finance or Accountancy as one of the major subject.
  • Valid HEC Law Admission Test (LAT) score with minimum 50% marks (applicable to LLB only)
SAT  Score Requirement
  • SAT Test ( SAT – I )
  • A minimum  of 550 score is required in each subject
                        OR
ACT Score Requirement
  • ACT Score of Maths, English and Reading
  • A minimum  of 25 score is required in each subject
