Anadolu Creator Lab Inaugurated at NUST
In a significant milestone for fostering innovation and technical excellence, Federal Minister for Communications Mr Abdul Aleem Khan and H.E. Dr Irfan Neziroglu, Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan formally inaugurated the Anadolu Creator Lab at NUST School of Interdisciplinary Engineering & Sciences (SINES). A state-of-the-art makerspace established with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), the lab has been operational for the past two years. It has yielded several success stories, including the launch of startups at the national level. Prominent amongst others present at the ceremony were Ambassador of Northern Cyprus to Pakistan, Ms. Dilsad Senol, Pro-Rector Academics-NUST Prof Dr Osman Hasan, and the Country Head TIKA, Ms Saleha Tuna.
Extending his felicitations to NUST and TIKA for the landmark initiative, the minister emphasised that it aligns with the national vision of advancing innovation through practical, experiential learning. He further said that it would empower students, researchers, and entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into real-world solutions. In his remarks, Prof Dr Irtiza Ali Shah, Principal SINES, thanked the honourable dignitaries for their presence, and highlighted some of the lab’s key contributions to interdisciplinary innovations.
Earlier, in a comprehensive presentation, Dr Zartasha Mustansar, Head of Department at NUST-SINES, outlined the lab’s unique capabilities, describing it as the first of its kind in Pakistan, established in the spirit of “learning by doing.” She maintained that the Anadolu Creator Lab is a creative hub fostering innovation and collaboration through design thinking-based learning methodologies. She also highlighted that the lab is equipped with 6x 3D printers both SLA and PLA-based, for fast prototyping, high-definition scanning equipment, Laser-cutting Machine and CNC Routing Machine.
Ambassador Dr Irfan Neziroglu highlighted the lab’s strategic role in cultivating critical thinking, adaptability, and cross-cultural communication. He remarked that the lab would serve as a launchpad for the new generations of innovators fully poised to meet the complex challenges of an interconnected world.
