First France-Pakistan Alumni Conference



First France-Pakistan Alumni Conference titled “Environment & Climate Change: Global Issues with Local Impacts” was held at #NUST on November 2, 2022.
The Ambassador of France to Pakistan, H.E Mr. Nicholas Galey graced the occasion with his presence. Rector NUST Engr Javed Mahmood Bukhari opened the session and thanked the organisers, especially the French Embassy in Islamabad for selecting NUST as the venue for the event. The conference was attended by delegates from the Embassy of France in Islamabad, IMT Atlatique, Sciences Po, Rennes Business School, UniLaSalle, Paris 8, Campus France, and Ecole Centrale Nantes. Among others were Ms. Afia Islam, a renowned Journalist, Dr. Nadeem Javed, Chief Economist Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, and Ms. Sadia Khan, Commissioner SECP.
French alumni moderated discussions on climate change in three sessions, viz ‘’Environment and Climate focused Policy Interventions-now and in the future,’’ ‘’Initiatives and Impacts,’’ and ‘’Renewable Energy in the Pakistani context.’’
The session was closed by Ms. Sabine Vermillard Attache for Scientific and Higher Education Cooperation, who reiterated the importance of enhanced cooperation to deal with the impacts of the environment & climate change.
