Lakson Group inks an agreement with NUST for support of Shuhada’s dependents

NUST welcomed Lakson Group, one of Pakistan’s leading business conglomerates, as a partner to the university’s developmental initiatives on April 30, 2021. Through its charity entity Ronak & Iqbal Lakhani Trust, named after Chairman Lakson Group Mr Iqbal Ali Lakhani and his wife Mrs Ronak Lakhani, the organisation has graciously extended support for financially challenged students at NUST.  The fund will benefit dependents of Pakistan armed forces personnel who either lost their lives or were severely injured in battle or service.

Mr Ather Imran CEO Sybrid Private Limited – A Lakson Group Company, inked the agreement on behalf of the group, at a ceremony held at NUST. Engr Javed Mahmood Bukhari, Rector NUST, and Air Vice-Marshal Dr Rizwan Riaz SI(M), ProRector Research, Innovation and Commercialisation warmly appreciated the initiative of the group. Initially to support 4 deserving students in 2021’s academic intake, this agreement is just the beginning of a partnership between the two organisations. Mr Ather expressed keen interest in enhancing the support and partnership in the future and together NUST and Lakson Group will build the nation through transformative higher education.

As part of NUST Endowment for Educational Development (NEED) initiative, this partnership will create a discernible positive impact on society by enabling the brightest minds of the country to receive world-class education irrespective of their financial limitations. Over 2,000 brilliant NUST students have benefitted from the NEED initiative since its launch in 2015.
