NUST USPCAS-E Hosts Ceremony Celebrating Distribution of FYDPs
PEC in collaboration with universities and industry partners, identifies current market and industry-relevant topics for Engineering students’ Final Year Design Projects (FYDPs). Projects undergo a rigorous shortlisting process at the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), and only selected projects are funded by PEC.
On July 9th, 2024, Rector NUST and Pro-Rector (Acad) warmly welcomed the Honorable Chairman of PEC, Engr. Muhammad Najeeb Haroon along with Advisor PEC, Engr Mir Masood Rashid, at the cheque distribution ceremony held at USPCASE Seminar Hall. The event was graced by the presence of the principal, deans of the selected projects, along with the project supervisors, and students.
During the ceremony, Engr. Haroon commended the students for their innovative projects and emphasized the importance of aligning academic endeavors with industry demands to ensure that graduates are well-prepared for their professional careers. For the year 2023-2024, PEC has selected 62 projects from NUST overall, including 32 projects from MCS, College of E&ME, and H-12 Campus.
Engr. Muhammad Najeeb Haroon also expressed his appreciation for NUST’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. He acknowledged the crucial role of industry partners in identifying relevant project topics and providing support. The engaging discussions underscored the shared vision of advancing engineering education in Pakistan, reinforcing the importance of continuous collaboration between academia and industry to inspire and empower the next generation of engineers.
