NUST joins WIPO’s Inventor Assistance Program (IAP)



NUST hosted the national launch ceremony of the Inventor Assistance Program (IAP), a flagship initiative of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) Pakistan. H.E. Ambassador (Retd.) Farukh Amil, Chairperson IPO Pakistan, and Ms Allison Mages, Head of IP Commercialization Section at WIPO Geneva, were welcomed by Pro-Rector RIC, Dr Rizwan Riaz.

The delegation toured SINES, where academia-industry collaborations are advancing innovation through advanced research. The event included a welcome address by Dr Riaz, keynote speeches, a panel discussion with national stakeholders and a workshop led by Ms Mages on IP commercialization.

Attended by over 90 participants including IP attorneys, TISC focal persons, patent agents, startup owners and university researchers, the session concluded with a commitment from IPO Pakistan to strengthen IP literacy and support inventors nationwide.
