NUST ASME SMME Chapter EFX 2025 – A Spectacular Celebration of Engineering

Organized by SMME American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) NUST Chapter, EFX 2025 lit up the NUST H-12 campus from April 18th to 20th with three unforgettable days of innovation and creativity spirit! With a massive prize pool of over PKR 1 Million, the festival featured five flagship competitions:

· Student Design Competition — PKR 265,000

· IAM3D (Innovative Additive Manufacturing Challenge) — PKR 265,000 Oral Technical Competition — PKR 310,000 Elevator Pitch — PKR 125,000 RC Car Race — PKR 100,000

The event began with an Opening Ceremony, which set the tone with inspiring addresses from ASME faculty sponsor, Iklhaq Khattak and the office bearers highlighting the vision behind the event. The ceremony was followed by fast-paced RC races, thought-provoking pitches, and powerful oral presentations.

Day 2 turned up the excitement with a 3D Printing Workshop, intense rounds of the Student Design Competition, and a heartfelt Women Empowerment Talk — all ending on a high with a lively social night which had many food stalls, rides etc at NBS ground.

Day 3 brought it all together with the SDC Finals, IAM3D Showdown, and a grand Closing Ceremony graced by Principal SMME, Dr Javaid Iqbal. The best teams were celebrated during the Prize Distribution, applauding their innovation and drive.

EFX 2025 wasn’t just an event — it was a launchpad for ideas, a celebration of collaboration and a glimpse into the future of engineering.
