NUST Team wins regional round of Hult Prize 2021
It brings us immense joy to announce that a team of four students from NUST has been declared as the Regional Winners of Hult Prize 2021 at Impact Summit held in Islamabad. The winning team ‘Froods,’ comprising of Eesha Naeem, Muhammad Zarrar Mumtaz, and Asjad Ali from NUST School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering (SMME) and Ali Abdul Rehman from NUST School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (SEECS) will go forward to the Hult Global Accelerator Program in Mexico, representing Pakistan globally. The team will be going through intense rounds of challenges to compete for a prize of US $1 Million.
Hult Prize is an annual year-long competition that crowdsources ideas from university-level students after challenging them to solve a pressing social issue in the form of start-ups around topics such as food security, water access, energy, and education.
The team’s project is a startup that envisions holding food outlets accountable for their food wastage while simultaneously tackling food insecurity in Pakistan.
NUSTians are doing us proud by developing meaningful and impactful projects that contribute to the betterment of the people and improve their quality of life.
Good luck to Team Froods!
