Centre for International Peace & Stability partners with Institute of Policy Studies

NUST Centre for International Peace & Stability (CIPS) and Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) entered into a general agreement for cooperation. The agreement was signed between the Associate Dean CIPS Professor Tughral Yamin and Chairman IPS Khalid Rehman during a ceremony held at the NUST Islamabad campus on March 29, 2021.

Spanning for a period of three years, the agreement intends to establish one-on-one cooperation between the two institutions in the specific fields of research, publication, and capacity building related to their mutual interests. The broader aim of the collaboration is to build a conducive environment for academic, research, and exchange collaborations.

Mr Rehman acknowledged the need to especially work on the conflict-related situations in Pakistan and expressed his immense optimism in view of the potential this collaboration holds. The heads of the two institutions, with high hopes for how this collaboration unfolds, also emphasised the significance of such collaborations to produce quality scholarship that can contribute to formulating efficient policies.

IPS is an autonomous, not-for-profit, civil society organisation that is dedicated to promoting and producing policy-oriented research. And CIPS, as an academic think-tank, strives for a deeper understanding of the peace and conflict dynamics worldwide. Through its academic and scholarly endeavours, CIPS aims to come up with pragmatic solutions to contemporary issues to foster an environment of peace and stability nationally as well as internationally.

Ambassador Abrar Hussain, Ambassador Tajammul Altaf, Mr Naufil Shahrukh, and Ms Kulsoom Belal attended the ceremony on behalf of IPS.
