Cold desert or Katpana Desert is a high-altitude desert in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It’s the world’s highest desert, with extreme cold temperatures even in summer. The stark, barren landscape covers 2,226 sq. km and includes sand dunes and rocky formations. Despite its harshness, it’s a popular tourist destination for jeep and camel safaris, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
