Dr. Aneela Javed wins the Knowledge2Action small grant for 2023



Dr. Aneela Javed, an esteemed faculty member at the Atta-ur-Rahman School of Applied Biosciences (ASAB) at NUST has been awarded the Knowledge2Action (K2A) small grant for the year 2023. The grant, titled “My Health My Decision: Advancing Women Empowerment in Pakistan,” will concentrate on raising awareness among women in specific rural regions of the country regarding sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and effective strategies for their control, with the objective of mitigating the social stigma associated with such diseases. The Knowledge2Action program is financially supported by Swiss Universities and jointly led by Haute école de travail social Fribourg (HETS-FR) and the Université de Lausanne (UNIL). The selection of projects for this program was based on their academic research content, transformed into tools/processes that facilitate the promotion, advocacy, and implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on translating research into tangible actions.
