SADA Alumna honoured as ‘Pride of Pakistan’ on Pakistan Day Parade

Aqsa Ajmal– an Industrial Design graduate from NUST School of Art, Design & Architecture (SADA)– was nominated as “Pride of Pakistan” for the Pakistan Day Parade arranged by Inter-Services Public Relations Pakistan (ISPR). The event hosted individuals who have outdone themselves and made the nation proud at national and international levels.
Aqsa was invited to the event for representing Pakistan, as a finalist, at Lexus Design Award 2020 – an international design competition that calls upon young creative talent around the world to “Design for a Better Tomorrow.” She became the first and is so far the only Pakistani, to have achieved this milestone, for her phenomenal project ‘Pursewit’ – a sewing machine exclusively designed for visually impaired people with low-income backgrounds. The machine is ergonomically designed and embedded with special features to allow differently-abled individuals to operate it without any hassle.
Congratulations, Aqsa Ajmal, on your outstanding accomplishment, and for bringing pride to your institution and your country.
