CIPS Delegation visits EU institutions and NATO HQs in Brussels



Prof Tughral Yamin, Associate Dean NUST Centre for International Peace & Stability (C) and Dr Muhammad Makki, Assistant Professor at CIPS Department of Peace & Conflict Studies, attended an Exchange Visit Programme in ‎Brussels with EU institutions and NATO HQs from November 15 – 20, 2021.

The visit was organised ‎by Hanns Seidel Foundation. The delegates had discussions with MEPs, senior NATO ‎officials, ‎think tanks on Pakistan-EU ‎relations, focusing on non-traditional security challenges including climate ‎change, migration, cyber security, food security, digitisation, etc.

Various issues pertaining to ‎the NATO 2030 Agenda, including strategic vision towards non-traditional security, were ‎also discussed ‎during the‏ ‏meetings with senior NATO officials.‎

The delegation also met with the Pakistani Ambassador in Brussels, Ambassador ‎Zaheer Aslam Janjua and Counsellor Mr Raheel Tariq at the Pakistani Embassy in Brussels. Prof ‎Yamin particularly discussed the issues concerning EU DisinfoLab and how Pakistan is ‎increasingly confronted with several security challenges which are non-traditional in nature. ‎
