From Idea to Impact: NUST Students Bring Clean Water to 1,800 Lives
NUST students continue to redefine community impact through their Civic and Community Engagement projects!
A team from SMME , Muhammad Rayyan, Momina Haq, Abdul Manan, Fahad Asif, Subhan Bin Yousuf, Abdul Moiz and Abeeha Zehra, undertook a project to provide clean drinking water to drought-stricken communities in Tharparkar, Sindh.
Over the course of April–May 2025, the students led fundraising campaigns and partnered with NGOs to support sustainable water access in one of Pakistan’s most water-scarce regions. Their tireless efforts, under the supervision of Ms Sehrish Hamid Butt (Manager, Centre of Civic & Community Engagement – JSPPL), embody the spirit of empathy, leadership and social responsibility at NUST.
Projects like these not only serve vulnerable communities but also empower students to turn compassion into action, paving the way for a better future.
