NIPIS 2025 Closing Ceremony
NUST Placement Office (NPO) held the closing ceremony of its flagship NUST Internship Programme for International Students (NIPIS) 2025 on August 12, 2025, at NSTP Auditorium NUST, celebrating the successful culmination of a vibrant month of cultural exchange, academic enrichment and professional growth.
This year, NUST welcomed 34 talented interns from 9 countries. Over the course of the programme, participants engaged in hands-on learning experiences across multiple disciplines, industrial visits and cultural immersion activities showcasing Pakistan’s heritage.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished officials and dignitaries, including the Ambassadors of Egypt and Syria; the High Commissioners of Mauritius, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh; the Deputy Head of Mission of Jordan; the Cultural & Education Attaché of Tajikistan; the Educational Advisor of Yemen; Protocol Attaché of Azerbaijan and the Education Counsellor or Türkiye, underscoring the programme’s strong diplomatic and cross-cultural significance.
The ceremony commenced with welcome remarks by Head of Placements – Ms. Maryam Akmal, who lauded the interns for their dedication and contribution during the programme. In his closing address, Pro – Rector RIC – Dr. Rizwan Riaz commended NIPIS for serving as a bridge between nations and fostering enduring professional and cultural linkages.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates to each international intern by their respective country’s dignitary – a gesture symbolising mutual respect, recognition, and international camaraderie. The programme also featured heartfelt testimonials from two international interns, who shared their enriching experiences and expressed deep appreciation for NUST’s hospitality.
NIPIS continues to stand as a testament to NUST’s commitment to global engagement, offering young minds from around the world a platform to learn, collaborate and contribute towards shared goals of innovation and progress.
