NIPIS 2025 Opening Ceremony



NUST Placement Office is pleased to announce the launch of the NUST Internship Program for International Students 2025 (NIPIS’25) — the university’s flagship initiative that brings together bright young minds from across the globe for a four-week immersive experience at Pakistan’s premier higher education institution.

Designed to offer professional exposure, hands-on learning, and rich cultural exchange, NIPIS’25 offers international undergraduate students the opportunity to work with leading departments, research centers and partner industries under expert guidance.

This year, 33 international interns from 10 x countries including Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Mauritius, Palestine, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States of America (USA) have joined the program, representing diverse academic backgrounds and cultural identities.

The Opening Ceremony was held at NUST’s Islamabad campus on 14th July 2025 and featured a warm welcome by Head of Placements – Ms. Maryam Akmal who introduced the students to the opportunities that lie ahead. She emphasized NUST’s commitment to global engagement and fostering a dynamic environment where talent, innovation and international collaboration thrive.

The event also included orientation briefings by Assistant Director Hostels – Mr. Muhammad Usman Ahsan and Chief Security Officer – Mr. Muhammad Sajjad Ahmad who outlined hostel facilities, support services and campus safety protocols for the incoming interns.

In his address, the chief guest of the ceremony Pro-Rector RIC – Dr. Rizwan Riaz emphasized the importance of international academic exchange in today’s interconnected world. He highlighted NIPIS as a platform for fostering cross-cultural learning and global collaboration. Dr. Rizwan encouraged interns to embrace the academic and cultural experiences NUST offers. He noted that such initiatives help shape globally aware and responsible youth and wished the interns a productive and memorable stay in Pakistan.

A highlight of the ceremony was a video presentation revisiting memorable moments from last year’s NIPIS program, underscoring the transformative impact of this initiative.

As a program that continues to grow in scale and impact, NIPIS’25 stands as a testament to NUST’s dedication to cultivating international goodwill and empowering future leaders through academic and cultural immersion.

The interns will spend the next four weeks engaging in professional internships, industrial visits, skill-based workshops, cultural excursions and networking events — offering them a holistic and unforgettable experience in Pakistan.
