NUST delegation visits Staffordshire University



As NUST enters the fourth decade of excellence, its focus on the quality of knowledge, skill set, and education being passed on to the students remains the foremost priority and the faculty and administration are on a constant mission to equip themselves with the latest global trends.

With the same goal, and to further explore avenues of partnerships, NUST distinguished alumnus, Profesor Raheel Nawaz, Pro Vice-Chancellor – Digital Transformation at Staffordshire University, meticulously designed the university visit for the NUST delegation led by Engr Javed Mahmood Bukhari, Rector NUST, on Friday, September 23, 2022.

Upon reaching the campus, the delegation was warmly welcomed by the organising team, and as a gesture of welcome, a meeting note was held with Professor Raheel Nawaz, Pro Vice-Chancellor – Digital Transformation; Gemma Smith, Director of International Recruitment and Development and Ravinder Kaur, Head of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.

As a greeting note, meeting with Professor Martin Jones, Vice Chancellor and Professor Kevin Hetherington, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, for the presentation which was then followed by a lunch with the organising team.

Furthermore, to showcase the University and its endeavours to incorporate technological advancement in education, the NUST delegation was given a visit to the facility.

A glimpse of Simmersive Technology was showcased by Matthew Rutter, Assistant Dean of School of Health, Science and Wellbeing, and Games, Computing, and Virtual Production Studio were shown by Alastair Dawes, Director of Business, Development & Enterprise, School of Digital, Technologies & Arts, and Innovation and Enterprise Zone visit was carried by Dr Laura Walton-Williams, Director of Business & Enterprise, School of Justice, Security & Sustainability and Marek Hornak, Associate Dean, Employer Partnerships & Enterprise.

Later, a brief about NUST and its achievements were shared by the delegation to the host team and a DOU was signed between the universities to build academic linkages.

The event concluded with a networking lunch, where both parties collaborated and discussed mutual connecting notes to further enhance the academic linkages.
