NUST is thrilled to look back on the incredible Women’s Day festivities, where the phenomenal accomplishments and unwavering resilience of women worldwide were celebrated.

The event featured a captivating panel discussion spotlighting women leaders from diverse backgrounds, delving into crucial topics like gender equality, empowerment, and sustainability. Some of the honorable guests for this event included Ms Anam Rathore from GIZ Pakistan, Ms Maha Kamal from Women in Energy, and Ms Zahra Khan Durrani from Islamic Relief Worldwide as panelists, engaging in an insightful dialogue moderated by Ms Ameera Adil, Head of Sustainability at NUST. Their discussions spurred meaningful action toward a more inclusive future. Following this, inspiring women shared their stories, focusing on climate action and resilience in Pakistan.

The event also showcased the innovative solutions and impactful community work of organizations dedicated to women’s empowerment. Stalls by the International Rescue Committee, Tameer e Khalaq Foundation, IRP, UN Women, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, Shehersaaz, SolarempowHer, Pak Mission Society, Womeninenergy, Welthungerhilfe , Shamspower, and Climate change initiatives featured initiatives spanning education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and more, amplifying the voices of women-led initiatives driving positive change.

Dr Rizwan Riaz, Pro-Rector RIC, graced the event and emphasized the crucial role of women in the economy, highlighting NUST’s commitment to providing inclusive opportunities for female students to excel. We also held a Recognition Award Ceremony to honor the outstanding contributions of panelists and partner organizations, followed by the prestigious “Voice of Pakistan” Prize Ceremony, recognizing winners of the essay competition on critical themes.

It was a collective effort to honor the past, celebrate the present, and empower the future as we championed the rights and achievements of women everywhere.
