NUST licensed out 01x IPR to Mausam Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd

NUST licensed out 01x IPR to Mausam Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd, for Compressed smoke-free coal technology using organic natural binders, making a total of 55 IPRs transferred to industry. This technology has been developed by Dr Qasim Hayat, Dr Waqas, Dr Khurram, and their student team comprising of Muhammad Awais Junaid and Amnah Asghar from NUST Atta Ur Rahaman School of Applied Biosciences (ASAB).
The licensing agreement was signed between NUST and Mausam Engineering Pvt Ltd. at NUST H-12 campus on July 15, 2021.
TabCoal is an innovative coal tablet comprising of compressed coal with multiple additives having the aim of prolonging the burning time and reducing harmful gaseous emissions. In addition to the hospitality industry, TabCoal provides a better alternative to wood as a domestic fuel in areas where natural gas is not available.
This innovative technology will also facilitate in achieving the UN defined Sustainable Development goals and will also help in the reduction of the carbon footprint.
