NUST PNEC Wins at Turkish Aerospace Competition



A team of three students from NUST-PNEC, has won the “Lift Up 2024–2025 Industry-Oriented Graduate Projects” competition organised by Turkish Aerospace. Their final year project, “Multiphysics Analysis and Design Optimization of Composite Nose Radome Part of Supersonic Combat Aircraft Covering Thermal, Electromagnetic, Aerodynamic and Mechanical Disciplines”, stood out among 222 projects submitted by 747 students from 67 universities worldwide.

The PNEC team was the first and only group from Pakistan to collaborate with Turkish Aerospace Ankara under the Lift Up programme, and the only international team shortlisted for the closing conference. They were also ranked among the top 20 teams globally. In recognition of their achievement, the team has been nominated for the Rector’s Gold Medal at NUST.

The project was carried out under the supervision of Assistant Professor Ziauddin Siddiqui and Associate Professor Dr Adil Loya, with industrial guidance from Mr Mustafa Kocaman, PLM Process and Method Manager at Turkish Aerospace. The student team comprised Adina Shaikh (Team Leader), Kabsha Zain and Baraka Abbas, all from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

In addition, the team’s work has been published in the official “Lift Up 2024–2025 Projects Proceedings Book”, an academic publication by Turkish Aerospace carrying an ISBN.
